About

I build software across interface, backend, and delivery.

I’m Daffa Azhar Putra Utama, a software engineer based in Sidoarjo, Indonesia. I work on web applications, backend systems, databases, and the deployment paths that keep them running.

This website is where I document selected work, technical decisions, production failures, and the lessons that remain useful after a project ends.

02

Working philosophy

I prefer software that stays understandable after it leaves the developer’s laptop. That means clear boundaries, observable failure states, repeatable deployment, and documentation that remains close enough to the work to stay useful.

I usually start with the problem and its constraints, then choose the smallest structure that can be tested and maintained. I value explicit trade-offs and evidence over confident but vague claims.

03

Origin story

I started with front-end development because interfaces made the relationship between a product decision and its consequence easy to see. Work on business applications, public-sector systems, and small product teams gradually pulled me deeper into APIs, databases, deployment, and system reliability.

The shift was practical. Front-end quality often depended on decisions made far beyond the browser. Learning those layers helped me solve the underlying problem instead of treating each symptom in isolation.

04

Current focus

I currently develop and maintain business software at Xposure Indonesia, contribute to an event-booking platform with PT Kasir Pintar Internasional, and am completing my applied informatics degree at Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya.

My current technical focus is dependable application delivery: distributed audit trails, transactional outbox patterns, database performance, CI/CD, containerized deployment, and AI-assisted engineering workflows that still preserve review, testing, and accountability.

05

Selected interests

Subjects I continue to study through projects, writing, and repeated practice.

Distributed reliability
Recoverable event delivery, audit trails, idempotency, and failure testing.
Product engineering
Connecting user flows, technical constraints, and maintainable delivery.
Front-end systems
Reusable interface patterns, performance, and resilient interaction states.
Delivery infrastructure
CI/CD, containers, Linux operations, and repeatable environments.
Technical writing
Turning project history and production failures into reusable explanations.
Cycling
Long rides as a slower counterbalance to software work and a practical way to measure progress over time.

Growth archive

A concise record of what changed in my work and thinking each year.

2026

Building for failure, not only success

In progress

My work shifted from delivering features to examining what happens after a request succeeds: whether events remain recoverable, deployments stay repeatable, and production failures leave enough evidence to diagnose.

2025

Learning production constraints

Working on a cash-management platform and an event-booking product made performance, session recovery, shared front-end standards, and deployment discipline concrete rather than theoretical.

2024

Connecting product decisions to implementation

I worked across public-sector software, logistics, and product teams while helping shape Countlorie, Calme, and Eco.in. The year made role boundaries clearer: product direction, interface quality, and engineering execution depend on one another, but they are not the same responsibility.

2023

Building reusable foundations

Early front-end work taught me that small abstractions matter when data grows. Incremental loading, reusable components, and careful state handling became practical ways to keep interfaces understandable.

2022

Starting with applied software work

I began formal study in Informatics Engineering at PENS and used competitions to practise turning incomplete ideas into testable product decisions under time limits.
